While you’re here, we wanted to tell you more about the JPC, its member representatives, and our mission. The JPC is an advisory body comprised of 30 industry member representatives appointed by the Association of National Advertisers and the American Association of Advertising Agencies. Each association appoints up to 15 member representatives. These member representatives are as diverse as the industry itself: from lawyers to producers, chairmen to directors of business affairs. The companies and names and of the members representatives are confidential out of respect for their privacy. The JPC is chaired by Douglas Wood, the Chief Negotiator. Doug leads a management team of Stacy Marcus, JPC Legal Counsel, David Weissman, JPC Labor Counsel, Kathleen Quinn, JPC 4A’s representative, and Kim Stevens, JPC Director of Industry Affairs.
The JPC represents the advertising industry in its collective bargaining with the performers of SAG-AFTRA and the American Federation of Musicians that advertisers and agencies employ in commercials. Collectively, these agreements represent annual spending of over $1 billion by the advertisers and agencies producing commercials under the collective bargaining agreements.
In 2016, the collective bargaining agreements with SAG-AFTRA expire on March 31 and negotiations will begin in mid-February for a new 3-year deal.
Please continue to visit the website for updates. We also encourage you to let us know your concerns. The more the JPC hears from you, the easier it is to understand the issues that concern you.
Happy New Year.
