It has come to our attention that some talent agents are circulating a “2016 Social Media Cheat Sheet” that purports to represent the union’s viewpoint.  Please be advised that we have spoken with the union and have confirmed: 1) YouTube is Internet, NOT New Media; and 2) the social media waiver did not expand the union’s jurisdiction to cover “any video created on behalf of an advertiser.”  Rather, it created lower rates for “commercials” (as defined under the CBA) made for use on social media.
